For some of you reading this you already know of my first son Patryk, that tragically passed at the young age of five. Some how I wanted to write about and share beautiful stories of him as I naturally would if talking to a friend. Every time I sat down to write this I was not sure when it would be the right time or would it ever. That is because as the years have gone by, the conversations about Patryk have become shorter and less often. I think about him everyday, multiple times a day, but for most it has become a topic that can cause a reaction of sadness….
French toast has many different versions, but my all time favorite is classic and simple with fresh whipped butter dolloped on top that melts as it sits. Then pouring over gently and slowly a good quality of real maple syrup. Sprinkle with a light dusting of powder sugar for extra sweetness….
If you own a stand mixer I highly recommend making your own fresh whipped butter for breads, french toast, muffins, pancakes ect… It takes just a couple extra minutes resulting in a light perfectly spreadable creamy butter. All you need is heavy whipping cream and sea salt. Nothing you can buy will compare! Adding that little extra home made touch is the difference between good tasting and phenomenal tasting!
The moment I received my beautiful Kitchen aid stand mixer my life changed for the better. The possibilities of what you can make with this awesome kitchen gadget are endless. So, if you haven’t invested in a stand mixer yet, then there is not time like today. Then for those who already own that pretty mixer and it’s still sitting in the box, what are you waiting for, break that bad boy open. I can not think of a better time then right now to get started on making Fresh Whipped Butter, Fresh whipped cream and much more.
The hubby and I were home one afternoon and it was the day before I was to go grocery shopping. Naturally there was not much left to eat. Knowing I was about to be asked “What’s for lunch?” I went to the kitchen in search of something to make. Looking at the half baguette loaf sitting on the counter and knowing this would have to be used by today or else it would be thrown out, I wanted to come up with a quick sandwich….
Ever have those days you swear your going to stop eating sweets!? You swear to yourself tomorrow I’m not going to have any dessert!!!! I promise! Only the following day to tell yourself one cookie will not hurt or I needed that ice cream I’m low on calcium. Welcome to my everyday challenge. Yes, my name is Trina and I’m addicted to sugar! O.k., now I feel better. Having a huge sweet tooth this dessert gives me my fix without all the guilt….
