Some days I cry because I feel happy and others for no known reason at all, other than my brain has been hijacked by hormones. I have never felt such emotions during any other pregnancy or in my life. I’m told this is normal and probably because I’m having a girl, these crying spells happen out of the blue and often. One minute I cry because an emotional commercial comes on, then I’m ridiculously naive and turn on that sappy movie thinking I can handle it until I’m five minutes in and crying with that “ugly face” you never want anyone to see. The funny part is, sometimes crying the ugly cry feels good. It’s like a release of all those hormones building up in your system everyday that just need to escape.
There are also those ugly cries that do not feel so good, the ones where you cry because you don’t know if your butt is bigger then your pregnant belly. This pregnancy has deffinatly taken a toll on my body and as soon as this baby is out I will get back on track. During my last pregnancy I stayed very active till the end and felt great, it just isn’t going to happen this time. Lots of factors play into why physically this has been the hardest pregnancy, now when I see pregnant people wearing work out gear in magazines I think “you don’t know how lucky you are (this sometimes makes me cry).” So next crying tantrum I’ll start craving some ice cream with bananas and crushed up cookies all over (see recipe below). So, now im crying because I want to eat the ice cream, but I don’t want to get fat. I know I’m going to eat the ice cream anyways, knowing this I cry knowing I will feel fat after. Funny thing, while eating the ice cream I couldn’t have a bigger smile on my face and I’m saying “yummmmm oh my gosh best ice cream ever! Hubby? you have to try this, no not mine get your own!” Only crazy men think a pregnant woman will share!
Now last but not least, let’s not forget that one very special cry, you know what I’m talking about that cry that means nothing at all and you have no idea why you are crying and nothing can make it better. While your crying you can even vocalize “I have no idea why I’m crying!” This is for the husbands, usually these moments can cause one of two reaction in you. One, trying everything and anything you can offering hugs, food, new clothing, purse, massage or a trip to Bermuda, but guess what!? It will not work! Approach two, trying to do nothing and give space because you think you will only aggravate the situation more or you just feel hopeless on how to help. Word of advice, nothing you do and I mean NOTHING will make it stop because we are crying for absolutely no reason to begin with(other than hormones!). By all means though please continue to try and stop the crazy because the last thing we want even if we say leave me alone is to “ugly cry” alone! Don’t worry one day you will have your sexy, fun loving and sain wife back. For now just love the crazy, embrace the crazy and for peats sake most importantly, NEVER I mean NEVER call us Crazy! lol
