I’ll be showing you exactly how to recreate this Delicious Ultimate Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the restaurant worthy of praise to visit!
Do you have that one restaurant that you wish was right in your back yard? You know, the one that keeps you coming back despite the long drive. When the food is worth the distance I personally do not hesitate to hop right in the car and go, maybe not everyday of the week like I wish that I could (This had me thinking). Recently while indulging at one of my favorite restaurants, I decided to recreate their grilled chicken sandwich at home. I order this delicious grilled chicken sandwich almost every single time. The restaurant I’m talking about is Dukes Alehouse and Kitchen in Crystal Lake, Il and let me tell ya, it’s worth the trip. Let me share with you all of the lovely things my entire family loves about this place…
I mean, does it get more picture perfect than this? Here you have Duke’s Restaurant right on the corner of Main St. and Railroad St. directly across from the train station. The location is ideal for a busy yet tranquil scene. The perfectly placed windows in this corner building allow you to enjoy your meal while viewing the trains passing by. This was definitely an exciting view for my two small children and the best part is that the kids love the food too. A huge factor that keeps my family coming back for sure is how wonderful they are with all of my families wide range of allergies. Just ask and they will not hesitate to make accommodations to your needs, making you feel right at home.
Mouth watering, right?! This my friends is the Duke’s Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The day I decided to snap a few shots they placed more of that seductive house smoked cheddar then usual, but this mama is definitely not complaining. Delicious grilled chicken, house smoked cheddar, bacon, tomato, lettuce and a chipotle mayo are all squeezed inside an irresistible toasted pretzel bun. Truly, the Ultimate Grilled Chicken Sandwich! Oh, those fries off to the right, let me introduce you to the best (In my opinion) Parmesan Garlic Fries!
A few details that make Duke’s flawless… The tables have mix matched wood chairs and adorable fresh cut flowers. The drink selection has a wide range of craft beers and organic wines, YES, I said organic wines! The biggest deal about this place, which I should have mentioned earlier is that Duke’s is a certified green restaurant serving locally grown (They even grow their own produce!) and organic foods. This my friends is my dream restaurant and I pray that others follow in their foot steps. In my opinion, when you start off with fresh and organic ingredients you’re already a step ahead of the competition.
Duke’s even has a lovely little stage in the center of the room with live bands playing on certain night. Right upon that stage, pictured here, is the gorgeous art work by a local artist Julie Kukreja. Every time I visit Duke’s I’m intrigued looking at this drawing. I’m admiring how beautiful and intricate the details are on this once blank chalkboard. You can check out Julie’s FaceBook page for more amazing illustrations.
If you’re near or semi near the Crystal Lake, IL area I am highly recommending you take a trip to Duke’s Alehouse & Kitchen. Check out their menu for astounding, fresh and delectable dishes. Duke’s is accommodating to a wide range, whether your gluten free, vegetarian or someone with food allergies. Just don’t forget to order the parmesan garlic fries 😉
