Immersed in an abundance of unknown it was almost too much.
The world as we knew it was ripped right from under our feet.
We sat there in a state of panic while the unsettling feelings arose in our conscious minds.
Present in the fear we began to go mad, even if just for a second.
Questioning when this will end, unaware that it was no temporary change.
We felt displaced, all while being in the same place.
Shielded from the truth, while politicians put on a play.
An eruption of emotions were presented with this mysterious life that has unfolded.
Are we in it together? Social media displays the cruel divide of many.
Can you trust thy neighbor? Maybe, but only masked from a distance.
Then eventually, through the dark fog, the panic begins to dissipate.
The sedentary becomes “normal”.
The reflections we see in the mirror are no longer what we once knew.
Day by day we find our new place in this upside down world.
The gratitude for life begins to fill our hearts.
For each day that you breath, it’s another day to conquer this evil that attacks us.
Together let’s fight, but with kindness, patience and understanding.
To thy neighbor, when you hear my children scream as if I am murdering them, they are probably just taking a bath…Only now you’re home.
